🌍 Hong Kong Shares Net Zero School Practices With the Globe at the UNESCO Greening Education Partnership (GEP) Working Group Meeting

🌱 On September 15, 2026, the UNESCO Hong Kong Association (UHKA) joined the third quarterly working group meeting of the Greening Education Partnership. We are delighted to share that Hong Kong’s Net Zero School Project has received great attention and praise from UNESCO GEP and accreditation organisations around the globe!

🎓 A student from one of our Net Zero Demonstration Schools, The Chinese Foundation Secondary School (CFSS), Elizabeth Yiu, was nominated to share her views on how youths can make tangible climate impact and lead green actions in their schools.

💡 Prof. Karen Cheung (President of UHKA), Ms. Americana Chen (Student and Youth Affairs Coordinator of UHKA), and Ms. Bertha Chan (STREAM Coordinator of CFSS) also joined the meeting and actively participated in conversations regarding greening schools. This demonstrated the exceptional leadership of the UNESCO Hong Kong Association and the Hong Kong Institute of Education for Sustainable Development in advancing schools’ implementation of the Hong Kong Green School Quality Standard through a collaborative approach across four key areas: school governance, facilities and operations, learning and teaching, and community engagement.
